Hey Cliffy I got my 18" bandsaw off the back of my ute with the engine hoist!
The sensible thing to do is unpack it and lay it over on the frame side of the bandsaw... then its only about 1m high.
At full height my hoist will reach over over 3.5m, ever seen how high you need to get a 250Xflow and box out from a cortina!....................................................................

Assembling Jointers
Please don't be as thick as I was. Having assembled the jointer as per the usless instructions I was left with four knobs only to realise that they were the leveling feet!
Damn, that thing is heavy when you are on your own.Jim Grant

what's the matter ? Don't you understand plain chinglish ???
'after construction which will be completed, relocted the 4 supplied foot adjusters into the locating holes as if marked in the before spaces to making machine unmovable in a constant location otherwise. 'If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

as per my previous comment in this thread, I made the observation that this simple step should not be forgotten. It was purley by accident that I spotted them before lifting the jointer (with help) to the base. As Gumby says, the instruction manual is so useless that one can be forgiven - IN FACT the manual does not mention the levelling feet. One should rather use the manual for the DELTA DJ-20.

No worries!
As a follow-up to this thread, I now have the jointer all set up, thanks to 2 solid mates and a bit of pre-planning. I ended up backing the ute into the garage, putting the jointer on some eskies to keep it off the floor, and then dismantling the box to cut down weight. It was an effort, but certainly do-able at this weight.
Thanks for the advice! (esp. about the levelling feet - would DEFINITELY have missed that one).

I knew the ancient Egyptians would come good!
I single handedly move my TSC-10HB with nothing more that a length of hardwood dowel.
Whale oil beef hooked!

Into & out of the ute or just around the shed once it was delivered?
I had to take mine 99kms into the bush & get it off the ute by myself.Cliff.

Fun isn't it... I bought the Carbatec 8" jointer about three months ago and had the same problem, ended up using about three rolls of old carpet that I had in the shed got the box half off the trailer and moved the car forward. I then unpacked the box around it and used my better half to help me lift it onto the base, wasn't as bad as I thought but would want to do it again in a hurry.
At least I know I'm not the only one who then found the four levelling wheels afterwards - might get around to putting them on one day.

Hi Harry72!
Duh!
The time I've nearly given myself a hernia getting something off the workbench (you know, just adding a cove moulding here, a top there, shelves, etc etc - suddenly it's gone from a 20kg carcass to a 90Kg "bust you b@lls" bugger to lift up and set down on the floor without dinging the blerry thing!
And I have shed ceiling joists - and a chain & tackle - Duh! again
Cheers!
