Default Muggins an the continuing saga of the TSC-10HB saw

Okay so now Ive gotten so that the list from her highness is so ruddy large I cant wait any longer for the bloody shed so Ive taken meself in hand and made a 8ft x 20ft floor in the humpy out the back... could have made it bigger but me daughters gear is stacked in one corner and the rest is taken up with wood and no doubt will mean some of the tools will get damp occasionally or even wringing wet since it never seems to stop bloody rainin here!

So anyway this floor will be me shed till I gets me a propa shed which Im still workin on I reckon a lot of noise yellin screamin wavin of red painted shoulders arm hidden behind back "no darls Im right true may just have to visit the hospital for awhile but Im right luv no need to fret or buy me a shed no I will manage one armed... ooops forgot to mention I cut me leg off this mornin sweets but shes right Im tuff this will do me dont worry bout me" that sorta thing should do it eh?

Anyway first order of business was the bloody table saw... yes the same TSC-10HB that Ive had dramas with since I bought the thing and then had to wait 3 months for its arrival... yes the same one that they sent the wrong fence with then sent another a few months later... yes the same one I had to wait weeks for the sliding attachment for... Anyway... Since it was last in the sea tainer and therefore first out the door and I was itchin to get her up an running so she was first...

I tell yer what a flamin bloody nighmare! first we had dramas getting the flamin sliding table to go smoothly without bangin against the two holders for the runners finally sorted that to a degree where its now usable as long as one doesnt want perfekshun and we start to look at the power plant thing (start stop control) and looking at the pics Timbecon sent me and then at this bloody thing and they are in no way the same! the attachment is totally different... uhoh not a good sign... but with a bit of the old hacksaw an a bit of the ol pursuader an drillin a couple of new holes and its now attached... but had to bend it out so that the wheel could be bloody turned!... okay so its gonna be a bit of a thing getting at those two wheels to raise or angle the blade I can handle that I think to meself no worries

So onto the fence... yeah thats the ubeaut fence that is supposed to be made for this saw!!... fit the back rail no worries 3 bolts its there and straight... now for the front angle peice... nope only one hole fits at any one point on the front of the bloody saw... well let me quantify that a bit... we actually got 2 to match up and screwed them up the outfeed end was 1/4in higher than the ruddy blade end!  undo screws try again nope only one screw fits only one bolt goes through none of the other holes match... and this flamin fence is supposed to be designed and come with this saw!!

But hey we got power out there and plugged her in cleared everything and everyone away and hit the button... oooooooohhh sweet mother of jehosaphat what a purely beautiful sound

So muggins is now phissed off since first I had to totally alter the flamin button control to make the thing fit the saw and second cause of the bloody fence thats supposed to fit doesnt... simply put the bloody fence does not match the bloody holes

Now I didnt just go blind here I even looked at the blasted instructions... then it hit me! The instructions are for fitting this fence to a contractors saw not the cabinet style saw... cause I tell you now for nothing the bloody thing does not fit this saw

I am now going to have to make a major leap of faith and tear into the sea container rip the hell out of everything thats stacked in there and fight my way down the back and find that Incra fence that hopefully will not be as bad as I think it will... well a lathe landing on it wouldnt do much chop to its acuracy now would it?... and have a go at setting that one up to it... Im sure since the instructions show a contractor saw that the old 10in one Ive got down there somewhere will appreciate the thing since the one that came with it could never hold a straight line in psychadelic phart perhaps with this one it will be of some use? I wont hold my breathe though

The interesting thing with this is that Timbecon had sent me half a dozen photos of the thing set up at their shop... and it shows the button thingy insitu quite happy appeared to have the angle thing cut down to let the back bracket fit nice and sweet (mine didnt till we cut it and redrilled the holes so it would match the holes in the table) and the fence the same but Im damned if I know how they managed that since none of the holes match the fence!!...

Sigh... maybe its the gods tellin me I should try something like bricklaying or maybe even being a bloody gigalo instead of woodbutcherin... cause no matter what I seem to have a continued run of bloody bad luck with these things!... Id like to blame someone but if anything its the ruddy manufacturer Timbecon bein the agent are just that an agent they dont set the thing up to make sure its all there and all right hole matchin up etc they just flog the things to muggins like me!

aahhh well rant over will see how I get on with the Incra fence... who knows maybe that one will fit this thing without a hitch? it would be good to have something go right with these things for a change I tell yer

You should try harder Greg. Dingo's style becomes self explanatory after a while and I'm not even pi33ed at the moment.

Ding, are you sure they sent the right fence for the saw... mine went on easily with no fuss.
Remembering this fence is made for many different brands of saw.

Sorry Harry... I was told by Stewart and others from Timbecon that this is the ducks knuts meant for the machine supposed to come with the machine looks like a ubeaut yank beisemyer heavy as ***** white one...

Initially they sent a peice of feather light aluminum crap and promised to send the right one when it arrived this is what they sent... and state catagorically that its the one... its actually the same one that is on the one in the pic from their site and the one that they show in the pics I posted in the other thread I started on this damned machine...

I was actually quite pleased when it arrived as it was so heavy and looked to be nigh on perfect and hence my thinking to attach it to the table saw at least initially...

I dont know could it be that Im putting the sliding table attachment on the table that is mucking with it?... But then Timbecon themselves have the thing on theirs in the pics they sent me of the table saw with the attachment fitted so presumably it should fit... but the holes do NOT match up at all... 3 in the rear fence is good and solid but 1 in the front fence is simply not right at all

Look at it this way, at least you have space for a large shed, not all of us are that fortunate.
Of a more practical bent, why don't you hire/buy a second sea container? As you need a tool, unload the first into the second until you find what you're after. The way Murphey is smiling at you, in a few days you'll have an empty container to use as a shed till you build a proper one!

Any chance that the bride threw up the sewing centre thingy to see how serious you were with the whole wood thingy? Not to mention the whole space/shed/workshop thingy.

ah whew there now thats bedda isnt it? I feel suitably and adequately slapped

And here all I thought to do was to let you fellas know the perils of my journeys with this table saw and look what happens... well such is life eh?

    The facts...
    1) The table saw is the TSC-10HB
    2) The fence is the one as advertised
    3) The fence does not fit the saw
    4) I put the thing together as per the instructions and photos sent to me by Timbecon
    5) The stop start mechanism did not fit the table and had to be modified to do so

Ian there was no intention of havin a go at or belittling or demeaning anyone over anything... not the size of this place (2 acres) nor the fact that the humpy is a bloody big covered area but only suitable for storage and that only if one doesnt mind things getting a tad damp nor the fact that Ive got a sea tainer (albeit one thats chockers with her highness and the kids gear and I have to fight through that to get at my tools) I had no thoughts of doing so to anyone... its taken us 22 years to get to this stage of being able to buy a couple of acres and the humpy was a bonus the sea tainer a storage facility and a bloody great shed was to have been bought but the mud happened in May... shyte happens mate so now Im makin do with what I have available... Im lucky and as you say fortunate to have what I do and I appreciate that while not ideal a damned sight better than what I had 5 months ago and better than some fellas have as their workshops, mate I know that and appreciate it and had no intention of saying otherwise to anyone... apologise if you took it that way

All I wanted to do in my own way was to describe the journey Ive had with this machine and its associated blasted problems thats all.

But heck no worries I guess I deserved it

And I'm reading it with great interest, keep it up Shane.

What puzzles me is that I got the same saw and had none of those troubles. The switch unit was already fitted and everything went together like clockwork. The 2 manuals were more than adequate for me.

May be because mine is blue not orange.

Shane, my turn to apologise to you.
I'm just jealous, my entire place sits on 120 sq.m (no I didn't leave a nought out) and my "shed" is part of an atic — once the rest of the stuff up there is sorted out. my current "bench" is one end of the kitchen counter. this is starting to sound like Monty Python "... you had a cup?! We had to make do with a bit of rolled up newspaper..."

BTW, keep us informed as the saga unfolds
