    Default Multi Tool Blades

I've been buying blades for my multi tool on eBay because of price but even new blades tend to burn their way through timber I'm cutting.
Does anyone know where I can buy reasonable blades at a reasonable price?

Yes....there was a post on this in the last week or so, either here or on the renovate forums. I can't remember the brand, but I think it was Swarts.

I've used the Fitzall blades and wasn't overly impressed. That being said, they're cheap enough for it not to matter so much.

My approach also. I doubt anyone would make the blades as good as Fein.

Just a thought, but I read somewhere that the woodcutting blades should be angled and push and pulled into the wood so to allow she wood dust a chance to clear. The reason the blades wear fast is that they heat up and loose temper from the friction and caught up dust/chips clogging the teeth. On TV they appear to just push the blade straight into soft pine. If you go at an angle, cut a little, tilt the edge, etc. you will allow the dust some breathing space and clearance and not heat up as much. If you think about how small the teeth are, moving only minutely, and straight into the wood, how does the dust chips get out?
    Hope this is of use.

Very well said Ned, the Fein blades are now made by fein internally instead of contracted & the blades have come down in price compared to the past

Fein blades are way out of my price range regardless of how good they are.
I use the tool for general purpose work, hit the odd nail here and there and the like and at $30 each for standard wood blades they would send me broke.

Preview - Torture Test: Multitool Blades - Fine Homebuilding Article
Fine Homebuildinging did a torture test of multitool blades. behind a paywall. i read in a summary that one fein blade was best and one bosch blade was best. in the bosch catalog, it shows which one it was. osc118f. Anyone got that magazine???

Bosch - OSC118F Multitool Blade - Fine Homebuilding Tool Review

FWIW, Bosch owns Vermont American and the VA blades at Bunnings are made in Switzerland, presumably the same as Bosch. Bunnings also have cheaper blades made by Ryobi. VA OIS adapter is $5.

Keen money savers can make their own.

WSE adapter for German WSE Blades might make it easier to fit Diy blades if they can be bent.

BTW the Fein 20th anniversary kit seems a good deal for anyone wanting one. rrp399 to 30/11/2013. looks just like the Top kit except missing 2 blades - 10 and 30mm. street price $345. (bought my multimaster about 2 weeks too early)
