Default My Triton Jigsaw won't cut straight!

My Triton jigsaw is driving me crazy as it just won't leave a 90 degree edge. Instead, it leaves a bevelled edge after every cut. I think maybe this is because it is not holding the blade straight. Although the blade sits in the guide roller, this doesnt seem to help. I am using new decent quality blades.

Has anyone else had this problem? What can I do to fix it? It's out of warranty.

Or should I just scrap it and go buy a Makita?

I found with jigsaws in the past that it was because I was cutting greater thickness than blade/machine could cope with.Try slower cut?

I assume the face plate is set correctly.

Cutting too thick or too fast will always make the blade cut at an angle or curve - I've cut some beautiful curves in 50mm pine when I pushed too hard. When there is a bit of pressure on the blade, it tries to bend away from it - and when the pressure is from the front, the shape of the blade will only let it bend one way - sideways.

I've found that just going slowly results in a good cut - at least with good blades like the new Bosch ones with the two way cutting teeth - if you feel resistance then you are pushing too hard & next thing you know you have a curved or angled cut. Blunt blades only cut fingers I've gone thru 4 jigsaws so far, the Triton is the keeper.
