Ozito Palm Sander - very hot in use
Picked one of these up a couple of days ago for some small sanding jobs Problem is that it gets extremely hot quickly to the point where it's almost unbearable to hold (and this is under light load). Before I take it back to Bunnings, has anyone had any experience with one of these? If mine is defective I'm happy to take a replacement otherwise if this is a problem with the sander's design then I'll ask for a refund.

What exactly do you mean by a light load and what specific task are you try to perform?

I have some 16mm ply which I have made large (fairly gentle) curved cuts with a jigsaw and was smoothing out the cuts (wasn't applying a huge amount of pressure). But the sander got really hot even when I was testing it on some flat board.

Well if nothing else Bunnings do stand by the Ozito brand, got a replacement without the guy even plugging it in. Either that or they're so used to seeing returns.

Definitely take it back to Bunnings.
I have experience with the small palm sanders from Ozito (I have two), and whilst they get pretty warm (to somewhat hot, I suppose), they shouldn't get too hot to the point you are worried that the thing will melt!
In my limited experience Bunnings are good with replacing Ozitos ...
