*&$@*% Ozito Router
This is a long shot as I know that us learned members of this forum wouldn't buy Ozito but...... I have one of those 850 W plunge routers that I bought a couple of years ago. Have only used it for light work and never used the dust extractor adapter that it came with, until today. I cannot connect this up properly. The so-called lid (or dust cover part 83 in the parts breakdown) stops the plunge mechanism from engaging fully when I try and install it. If anyone has this router can they advise please?

*&^^%@ router with picture
Upon reading the post I realised that a photo would be beneficial in explaining the mystery part. It is the part sitting in the top left hand corner with the 2 tabs. The other parts snap together and are no problem. I cannot figure out what the other part does unless it causes a better seal but in doing so it blocks the plunge action of the router . Surely tool engineers would not make useless parts? Anyway if any non Ozito users can figure out, let me know.

I'm unashamed to say I have an Ozito 1020W router. same problem. With the dust hood on, the collet stops about 15mm from full plunge depth.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

Gumby, with the one I have, I reckon I'm losing at least 20mm. One solution could be to break the tabs off, because it's the tabs that are preventing the plunging motion.

Hi Tiger
I couldn't see anything in the manual to help.
Take off the motor, put it on and put the motor back. Thats it.
I haven't put mine on, I must like cleaning up mess all the time.
OK does ot really stop all the dust?

Hi Celeste,
I think you'll find that you have the same problem. It's an awkward attachment to put on in the first place hardly facilitating dust collection at all. Maybe Ozito don't think that dust is a big problem for woodworkers and that no one is going to bother to use it for their tools. Without the offending piece, there is some dust collection but probably better if the other piece is included somehow.
