Ozito SCMS
Hi fellas, just wondering about these 2 scms.
http://www.ozito.com.au/productinfo.aspx?prodid=CMG-404
http://www.ozito.com.au/productinfo.aspx?prodid=CMG-411
The cutting capacity is not a worry as the first one would be sufficient,
Im just wondering what the advantages/disadvantages are of each one.
I dont know the prices but I would assume the 10" is a bit more?
Anyway just after people opinions, Not just knocking ozito but people who have used the saws I want the good the bad and the ugly.

g'day you have come to the right place,,people here really know alot,,,,but my $2 worth would be. I like ozito 3 year waranty can't go wrong i have they round sander "which i have tried to kill" a 13mm drill and a jig saw, 120amp welder, and just bout they belt sander shop vac and cordless drill. They all do there job when i ask and when they don't i wil take em back or in some cases now after 3 years buy a new one.
But as for a scms,, i too bought a cheap gmc one, and it is around 6,7years old and very helpfull but not to good on deligate work to get it accuate you mose well cut it with a hand saw
I Soon will be getting makit and i would say to you unless you don't wont to cut true and have a few mm to waste put your money towards a makita

If you do a search on SCMS you will find many varying answers, however the main point is you only get what you pay for.
The cheapies are renown for in-accuracy and having poor quality blades that usually have to be replaced from the start. IF you can afford the extra $$$$ why not buy better quality from the start? Some will start out with a cheapie for $2--$300 only to be disappointed and then go up-market which I think is wasting money in the long run.
I own a Makita LS1013 and paid $799 for it at a Tradies expo. It hasnt missed a beat and I highly recommend them. Others prefer Hitachi, Bosch and Dewalt.Jack

i have one of the 8" ones and (part from the guard sticking and me takng off and cant figure how it goes on) its a bloody ripper (well crosscut really). ive had it for 2 1/2 years and havent killed it yet. when ya let go of the handle it slides back. and the click stop is as good as a dewalt or bosch saw. good saw...
First On Race Day
And the first brock trophy goes to...............
and we got no "2" as well
A FORD driver.
ironic isnt it?
and if ya cant win on ya own merit punt em off!!!
holden cheater team!!!!!

I had the 10" one, although it was a no name brand before Ozito was even thought of, and Bunnings was only new. Lasted for years, until I had the cord wrapped around the body which held the spindle lock lever in a bit. It chewed up teh gearing. Other than that couldn't complain for the price. (was about $300) when everything at that satge was $1000+
Wasn't overly accurate but good enough for bigger jobs where a few mm makes no difference decks etc

Ended up just getting a Standard CMS for $55. Im extremely happy with it for $55 and didnt expect it to be as good as it is. Seems reasonably accurate to me.
