Default Paslode Framing Nailers - AU vs US & More

Can anyone tell me the difference between the:

    AU: FrameMasterDNA Impulse Nailer
    AU:Paslode IM90i Impulse Strip Nailer
    and the
    US: CF325 Cordless Framing Nailer

I found a thread that indicates the AU gas and nail kits fit the US model. I've found an AU store that sells the US model onshore (not ebay!) considerably cheaper than bunnings and other online stores. Only a 6 month warranty, but being onshore makes that easier to enforce.

The AU paslode site says the FrameMaster uses Dhead and Dekfast nails, and the IM90i uses RounDrive. What's the difference?

The one key question is if the FrameMaster has tool free depth adjustment - the local paslode and bunnings sites say the IM90i does, but it doesn't state for the Framemaster. The US model does have it.

So the US one is cheaper, with a shorter shop-based on-shore warranty, but the AU one has the longer warranty, backed by the manufacturer.

    For some context:

I will be doing some stud wall, fixing new structaboard (about 45sqm) to old oregon joists, and later who knows. I don't want to hire, cos 5 days of hire here is the cost of the tool outright.

Any and all advice appreciated. Even better would be offers of "you can borrow mine" from anyone in the ACT! . Note: "Don't be stupid, do XYZ instead" is useful advice, too. Feel free.

I'm not sure what the go is with this specific company and warranty all I can relate to you is some experience I have had with other electronic consumer goods.

Basically if you get something from the US and then take it back in to a store to get it fixed they should be able to track where you got it from via the serial number on the device, thus working out it comes from the US they may choose not to honour any warranty.

Generally if something comes in out in the US it has a different model number when they release it in Australia, never been sure of why but it always seems to be the case.

I know in Adelaide nail guns of various types often come up in the paper in the for sale column much cheaper and having done some more miles than a new one, that might be a better option that a brand new one or importing one from the states. The trading post seems to have a few things like that pretty often as well, but if you can find it in your local paper you can often get it a bit cheaper again.

sorry can't answer anything about the differences in the guns themselves though.

    Cheers

    Thanks, Simon.

I checked the FrameMaster, and it does not have tool-less depth adjustment.

I ended up cheaping out - got a chinese kit (frame, brad and staple gun) from Bunnings.

Of course, that meant replacing my 15 yo air compressor, too. together they were under the total price of the Paslode. Given what I'll use it for, I'm not that worried about the quality now...
