Paslode straight fixer often wont retract after firing
I have always found the straight fixer a little more reliable than the angled bradder, and I know that both guns turn into bitches if they are not cared for...hmm I can think of another species similar...hee hee.
Despite my fairly regular cleaning the fixer has developed a problem whereby after firing it the piston/firing pin wont retract.
I have just discovered a quick fix.. and that is each time this happens there will always be one nail by itself (must be the last one on the clip) sitting just under the chamber/barrel and it wont come up into the chamber.
So I pick it out with a screw or something and the gun will retract after firing until another "last nail" arrives.
All the parts and workings in the magazine and firing chamber look ok.. and I havent dropped the gun.
looking forward to a reply...
p.s I love this forum, wish I had found it sooner
