I'm going to have to watch it.....it's powerful enough to pull the moisture out of veneer.

Hi Termite,

Probably out of my depth here, but wouldn't a regulator be a good idea to limit the vacuum to just what you need rather than a "spheroid objects to the wall" approach

Home made, there's a good vacuum project page somewhere on the web, I'll have to do a google.

God knows what a vacuum regulator looks like or costs, I think I'll just try the "Suck it and see" approach.

sounds like as well as the vacuum press you also have the makings of a small vacuum kiln.

They sell regulators, hose kits and airfilters etc.... make sure you put a filter on the intake the last thing you want is to suck some crap into that pump.

Thanks mate, that's the site I've seen before and couldn't remember.
Filter, that big black thing on top is a $50.00 filter and you're dead right in suggesting one, the damage a bit of crap can do to one of these things is horrendous.
