    Default Pressure Cleaners

I'm considering getting a pressure cleaner. At this stage mainly for use under the bonnet. Do you have one? What make is it? and Are you happy with it?

    Thanks in advance

Rod, I have two; one is a petrol job putting out 2000psi and the other is a Gurney. The Gurney is the better unit for a few reasons:
    • I can get parts more easily
    • It is quieter
    • it will feed from a bucket
    • smaller footprint
    • better accessory range and simpler fittings
The main nuisance with the Gurney is you need power leads as well as a hose and tangles occur more easily.

I gotta Karcher, one of the bigger domestic ones, 6.8? or something like that. I'm very happy with it.

I wouldn't recomend a real lil one, they may have a heap of pressure, but without a reasonable volume of water you can't wash off what you have just blasted.

Depnds on what you wanna do too I guess.
    Boring signature time again!

I have the smallest bosch 100? about 1200 psi from memory. I'm used to 2000 psi jobs for work that I hire but am satisfied with the small one for home. Its great for under bonnet work but is a bit slow cleaning the paths.
because of the small grunt you have to hold the wand closer to the concrete therefore you have a smaller cleaning strip and thus more passes per sqm = harder work.

Mine doesn't run of a bucket which is a real bummer because you feel very paranoid and guilty every time you break the water restrictions.... but being raised a Catholic I feel that way most of the time.

I've got a Stihl RE116K. It lists pressure as 150 bar (under 2000psi?)
Doesn't run from a bucket so doesn't get a lot of use right now.

    Very happy with it.

Water supply to all Karcher models is I THINK via the hose. I use mine at least twice each year for engine cleaning, and hard to reach areas under the Ute. I clean the outside walls of the house and also the mower, chain saw , etc. I'm totally satisfied. Not getting small equipment is good advice from Outback.
Additionally, detergent can be included into the water stream, and the water stops flowing when you let go of the trigger.

    I have a Karcher 620 M - works very well - But -

Have had mine repaired twice - If you don't use them regularly the the pump can and does sieze, It appears that it is comprised of dissimilar metals and "should be used regularly - about once per month" according to Karcher Australia otherwise the metals will grow together.

The rotating jet cone dirt blaster is excellent for cleaning paths.

I've had mine for more than 10 years and never had a problem, but I do believe they need "to be blown out' when work is finished and this is explained in the destructions
