Question PT260 combo - belt slippage

When I'm thicknessing I find that the timber often has to be almost forced through and doesn't get picked up by the roller (pre-bladedrum). Pulled the plastic shroud off and found that the rubber band belt had come off the plastic pulley wheel - hence the roller isn't turning to grab the timber!
Has anyone had the same problem? Anyone tried to replace the wheel/belt with something more substantial?
I think, therefore I am... unable to get anything finished!

Firstly, do you have the ML 392 or the PT 260 - they are totally different units and would have different fixes.

To ease the pressure of timber on the table, apply some wax to the table top and give it a rub with a sft cloth. I use Ubeaut's Traditional wax for that job (just use a tiny amount) but others use different waxes successfully. Make sure you aren't taking too much off the timber at each pass. I only ever raise the table about 1/4 of a turn of the wheel (which raises the table about half a mm)
    .

If you have the ML 392, then how old is it? There was an upgrade to the rubber drive belt a year or so ago. It went from a rubber ring to a rubber belt. The new belt can be retro fitted to the old wheel and works better.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

Well forget my comments about the belts but try the wax anyway.
