Our vote would be to spend the extra & get the sxe450duo metabo 150mm sander, much better than the 5" sanders as it can be used for far longer runs. It also has two settings for a fine & aggressive cut. Paper will be easier to find also.
ar the last 3 wood shows we done this year it was our best seller at each show & from a repair point of view I would say we would be lucky to of seen 5 for service or warranty repair in the last 5 years

Try this at home.
Place your ROS on a piece of wood. Switch it on and hang on to it by holding the cable only. Where does the sander go?
My Metabo goes nowhere. It is so good even my 7yr old daughter can control it.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com

Yes. The difference, in my opinion, relates to smoothness, vibration and noise. The Festool and Metabo just feel more precisely engineered.
One of my sailing friends is a Bosch junky - and I regularly get press-ganged onto his tools. I liked AEG and Rupes until my wife discovered Festool. Subsequently, a little playing around with Metabo. More and more I appreciate precision.

I think everyone would like Festool if they could afford it… I know I would.
I ended up buying the Bosch unit today and got another 10% off the price which the store guy reakons only left him $9 margin. If that is the case poor guy, but for his 15 min of time I covered his wages.
