Don't know the quality of the TV version as I've not had one in my hands - that being said there are a great number of these Fein Multimaster tool copies about so it is not hard to get to see and feel the tool before you buy. Bunnings or any of the larger tool places will have them and if past observations are worth anything - they are cheaper than the TV promotions and often of a better quality [my opinion]. Check out the costs of the replacement blades and bits [these can be a bit of a shock] as well as if the machine you choose has an adaptor to fit the blades etc of other manufacturers.
Hope it helps, regards,
Bob

I do not have "the Renovater" but one by another manufacturer. The number of jobs it has done, and with the variety of blades has made it a worthwhile investment.
This type of tool is made by several manufacturers and is available both corded and cordless. However the blades (and to a limited extent sanding pads) are not necessarily interchangeable.

I have recently purchased a ROC brand tool form a local hardware store ( not the big green shed) the cost was $78.00 as opposed to the bigger amounts asked on tv.
I believe that the tools are interchangable with the "cheaper" brands. So Far it has be well worth the outlay of funds.

I use the Bosch equivalent. Hasn't done much mileage yet but it seems good so far.
At masters they were selling universal adapters to fit Bosch fittings on fein etc. My father owns the fein so if I ever get the adapter I'll test it with his."That's impossible. Nobody can give more than 100%. By definition that is the most anyone can give"

I had the fein Multimaster for over a decade and did some serious work. I recently bought the more poewerful version..its not cheap at $1000.00 But i guess if the tool saves more than it costs then it is worthwhile. For me at any rate it can do certain types of work no other tool can. Having said that if their wasn't a multimaster there is always a work around.
The blades are deadly for these tools and in my eyes a serious rip off but what do you do??
