Bosch jigsaws - Green PST900PEL vs Blue GST75BE - recommendations please!
Hi everyone, long time no speakee, I have had a few issues to contend with in recent months (*cough* years *cough*).
Anyhoo, I am looking to buy a bosch jigsaw - I am currently looking at the Blue professional GST75BE model as opposed to the Green DIY PST900PEL model. I have what I feel to be a good price and vouchers, so I'm getting one now.
Difference between the two is about 30W, and coincidentally about $30. Presumably the blue bosch will have higher end, sturdier parts etc.
At this time it will be a once in a blue moon tool. I know the blue will be more durable as it meant for professional use. My asking the question I guess is more about whether I should spend the extra if the individual jobs it is used for are finished any better.
Your thoughts, observations from use and recommendations are appreciated please - thanks!WTB Koken sockets (and other Koken stuff), please PM me if you're interested in selling:
3/8" Metric Standard 6pt 13mm up; 3/8" Metric Deep 6pt; 1/2" Metric Deep 6pt.

Bosch jigsaws - Green PST900PEL vs Blue GST75BE - recommendations please!
I have this jigsaw and the older Bosch green jigsaw. They both work well and get used frequently . I think either will be fine for diy use

I know it's not one of the models listed but it will be the last Bosch Green item I buy, I think mine is a 700 something and I don't like it.
There is quite a bit of play in the vertical position and mine wanders off vertical even with the screws done up quite tight, as soon as I get to the first tight radius the blade is no longer sqaure to the workpiece. The speed control on mine doesn't have any sort of feedback so if it is used at slower speeds it stalls pretty easily, not a massive problem though, just nitpicking.
I'm going Makita 4351FCT for my next one, it's a lot more expensive but I'll have it forever so I'm not too worried about the price.

Not sure what pricing you have got but I see Masters are selling the green Bosch for $116 but they don't have stock in all stores when you look online.
I can't find the stroke length for the green Bosch, but the blue has 23mm. The length of stroke is important as the longer the stroke the better it will cut thicker timber as it can clear the shavings better, but the pendulum action probably negates that a bit.
If I was buying one I would pay the extra and get the blue even if they are both made in China nowadays. Might be just me, but the blue tools always seem to feel better and more solid in the hand.
