Default Good Router table for Triton TRA 001

    This is my first post.

I am making 60 beehives including boxes, roofs, floors, crown excluders. I also wish to make other items of furniture etc for myself and I am keen to get a table which is versatile and good. I am thinking of paying in the order of $500 - $700.

So far I have been hand holding my router but I would I am sure that I would get more accurate results with a table. I would also expect that it would speed up my work as it it is a repetitive process.

I like the look of the cast iron tops. There is a carbatec router extension table which looks good to me. Cast Iron Router Table Extension : CARBA-TEC Although I can't afford a table saw at the moment I could make a cabinet to accommodation the top in the mean time. Would this offering be fully adjustable to alter where the cut is made do you think? Would adding a coping sledge be a good addition with a view to making the process of passing the wood along the cutter a bit smoother?

I am not so much interested in saving money as having good and versatile tools which will provide a good investment and help me achieve good results.

The joints which I would be using would be lap joints, dovetails, box joints initially.

I hope you can help with some advice.

    Cheers

I have not used it myself but I have seen good things said about the Kreg.

Or you can buy / download plans for it.

The NYWS delux router table is pretty awesome.

I myself am stuck with a crappy one from Timbercon which I would not wish on my worst enemy!

So DO NOT buy this one!

    It really does suck ####

I Agree talk to Pro Wood and seek their advice, They have Australian made table tops and a varityofrgood quality router table inserts. don't go for the cheaper ones sold by some others as I did, you will end p replacing it within months. they are subject to warp.

Seconded and thirded about going to PWS. They offer a few choices of table tops, which already have the recess cut for their phenolic mounting plate. Great quality.
