    Default Rusting Tools

    Hi all,

I've just bought some new tools, pliers, screwdrivers, chsiels and the like, and noticed that they are getting a coating of rust very quickly whilst sitting in my shed.

Is anyone else experiencing this kind of thing in their sheds? What can be done about it?

Are their brands/makes of tools that will not corrode in this fashion?

Give them all a quick spray and wipe with CRC 5-50 every so often.
    Cheers

    Use some of this stuff:
    http://ubeaut.com.au/ubhome.htm

    Works a treat!

Actually, follow the link then choose Traditional Wax on the left hand side.
That link won't take you diretly to the page for some reason.

I give mine a generous coat of Lanoguard. The lanolin sticks to the metal and stops surface rust.

Subtle and Cliff cannot be used in the same sentence as it is grammatically incorrect

That Vapourseal stuff only works if you put your tools away in a cupboard, tool box, etc.

It doesn't work if you leave them all over the shed.

I gives off fumes that make a non-corrosive atmosphere.
