Are Ryobi 18v batteries interchangeable
I have a couple of Ryobi 18v drills that get a lot of work ( plus circular saw and reciprocating saw). Unfortunately the batteries don't last and are very expensive to replace. Last time I needed new batteries it was cheaper to buy a new drill with 2 batteries than just buying the batteries.
However these tools have now been superseeded by One Plus and other series using newer battery types (ie Li).
The drills I have are CID1802P and HP 1802M.
Can I use the batteries from later series in these old drills. ie the CDD182L costs $69 and comes with 2 batteries, whereas original spec batteries are around$80 - $90 each.
Thanks

Ryobi 18v regular charger and One+ batteries
According to the Ryobi website:
RYOBI One Plus :: Lithium
Ryobi states that the One+ batteries are compatible with all 18v Ryobi power tools. Having stated that, one would assume that the standard 18v charger would also charge the One+ batteries.

One of the guys I work with has a Ryobi 18V fetish, if it's Ryobi and powered by 18v, he's got it.
I believe the old NiCad chargers will only charge NiCads, but the new Lithum chargers will do both. You can buy kits with 2 batts and a charger, you can even buy a charger that will charge 6 batteries!
