Ryobi Belt / Disk Sander
Anybody using the ryobi belt disk sander? I have a good opportunity to get one in the old "bunnings match less15%" battle against our local mitre 10. Brings the price to about $150.
The question is how many people are using these smaller 6 x 4 models compared with the bigger ones.
I only want to buy one
I tend to make a range of stuff from jewellry boxes/chests to much larger pieces.
All opinions greatfully received.

Ryobi Benchtop Belt Sander
I have one, trying to find a good source for replacement belts so I just did a search and found this old post so I thought I'd reply.
Mine works great, one of the better of my cheap machine purchases.
Anyone know a good supplier of belts?

I have one Jock. It works very well. I paid $190 for mine about a year ago. Before that I had two GMC units, both went back. One lasted 5 minutes before a bearing ceased up, the second was stuffed before it came out of the box, did not even get the chance to plug it in. Got my money back and got the Ryobi. Mind you I think I saw a Jet one somewhere recently with a stand for $299.

Hi Barney - Are you aware this thread is 2 years old?
To answer your query, get your belts from either Carbatec at Coorparoo or if you are on the Northside try C& L tools at Nudgee (Northgate) before you make the trip over the Gateway.

I have one also can't fault it , the mitre gauge is a bit crappy though being plastic.
I use mine for metal also .Havent had to replace the belt yet ,I just take it easy when using it.
I bought a velcro disc pad and a few different grit discs from Banner Hardware when in Adelaide earleir this year ,but havent installed it yet
