Which sander when?
I have a belt sander, and a 1/3 sheet sander (cheap and nasty). I wonder if a Random Orbital Sander would be an appropriate replacement for the 1/3 sheet sander; and more widely: for what tasks should the different sander types be used?
Further - if a ROS is indeed a worthwhile acquisition, what features are most important (and what brands/models are recommended) for course and fine work?

One thing I'd like to mention, recently my 1/4 sheet B&D bit the dust and I found a nice ROS at a pawn shop and started using it. It's a great little sander and does a much better job than my old one, but the problem arises when I try to sand in corners. I end up doing a lot more hand sanding. I guess everything's a trade off.

I have a 4" Makita belt sander and I bought a DeWalt ROS a while back. Haven't touched the 1/3 sheet sanders but I use a detail sander for corners (the ones people can't see too good!)
