    Here is a good video explaining why the backing pads fail. I hope my 3 extra Bosch backing pads will last a very long time. Good luck everyone.

    Quite possibly you've used your sander much more than I have then. My pad is still ok but it's only been about 3 years of weekend use, and not every weekend at that.

    I purchased 3 extra sanding pads just in case they become unavailable.
    A new improved sander model is replacing the ROS65VC-5 and the sanding pads for the new model are a different.
    Sure there are off brands sanding pads but I prefer the name brand.

    I have a generic look alike sander and the long handle is nice and requires a little practice using the 2 hand design. Its about balancing the tool when using it. I have found myself using the Milwaukee orbital sander with a palm grip more.
