#4. A Kerf? is the "Groove" left after running the saw through the job.
But of course! Googling will help!!!!!!!!The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

3: Band Saw
4: the Riving knife is there to stop the cut timber closing up and stopping the saw blade from binding up and stopping. the riving knife is behind the saw blade and sits in the kurf

Some People are like slinky's,
They serve no purpose at all,
but they put a smile on your face when you throw them down the stairs.

I'm game (and probably pretty lame too, but we won't go into that right now)
1. Morticing , Paring, Bevel Edge, Carving, Corner (may be a variant of bevel), and Turning (plus veneer saw, "Gentlemans" Saw, Flush Saw, Inlay Saw, Jewellers Saw, Offset Saw, etc., et blerry cetera...
2. Tenon Saw, Dovetail Saw, Fret Saw (& related Coping Saw)
3. Dozuki, Ryoba & Kataba
4. Kerf is the effective cutting width of the blade, i.e. the width of the slot that it cuts (not that it matters all that much to me as I always seem to miss my marking line anyway)
Cheers!

Hey DavidG ... chill out!!
The kids come in here, get quick answers to complete their homework and go back to the streets on their skateboards (or mountain bikes) to harass little old ladies!
Don't take it all too seriously

Too heavy..I thought The Kid was just getting into the spirit of things.
How about bench, mortise and paring as yer three chisel groups- I consider turning and carving tools to be separate species again.
