Default Seeking Dust Extraction adaptor for Makita 1900/1902 Planer...

    Dear Sirs,

Have any of you been able to track down an adaptor for hooking up the hose of your Workshop Vac to the gory-shaped chip chute on the side of the Makita 1900 or 1902 Planer? (or for that matter, the chute on their own in-house clone - the Maktec MT190?)

    Many Thanks,
    Batpig.

I have the adapter on a 1923B I think it's the same. Comes with a cloth dust bag... I could track down the part number on Monday...

    Dear Damien,

If the adaptor that you talk of is round by the time the bag attaches to it, it sounds like just the thing I need!

I've looked around the Makita website and can't see anything, so a part number would be a good start. Strange that they're not shipping them with the adaptor (and the bag for that matter) as standard, hey...

    Many Thanks,
    Batpig.

(P.S. Regarding your sig, not all that strange really, especially over there in the land of Ubermenschen... If Scheppach would just shoehorn a 10 or 12" blade into the TS2010, I would be in the same boat! And how about those Mafell Erika's - imagine one with an aluminium induction motor. Would be Sweet As... )

Mate, I haven't forgotten you. Just flat out at the moment. I know I can track this down for you because I had to track down the bag for myself. Bloody mouse ate it when it was in the father-in-law's shed. Will need a couple more days...

    No sweat Damien.

Sent an e-mail off to Makita back on the weekend. No reply yet, but it's not super urgent. Plenty of other things can be done first. Regarding mice, I think a plague of them brought the German Panzer offensive to a grinding temporary halt (by chewing out the tank's wiring) on the plains of the Ukraine in the Summer of 1942. Persuasive little buggers - seem to know where you're vulnerable...

    Regards,
    Batpig.

    Gudday,

These could be the part numbers you're looking for: Check out this link... Makita 1900

Especially List No.: 110: Part No.: 152122-3

Here's a few pics of what I've got, plus what's left of the bag that damn rodent left behind...

    Attachment 59926 Attachment 59927 Attachment 59928 Attachment 59929

One of the pics shows Part No. 152122-3 removed and sitting on the bench. I've got a 1923 and 1900 and it fits both. I think this part is common to a lot of Makita routers...

    Hope it helps.
    Damien

That is a legendary effort Damien...

Accordingly, may I offer the suggestion that if you bought the Planer in a "Legends" pack, then just get the Makita cap that also came in the pack and get the Frau-friend to stitch it up into that new bag that you were going to get her to do... (Okay, it may not have the same capacity as the original bag, but it'll really, really (well, sort of) absolutely dead-set look like the genuine $50 replacement bag!)

    Batpig.

(P.S. Hang on - if the bluddy bag is worth $50, how much are they going to want to slug me for the blue plastic bit!?! )

I know this post is 4 years old but I just happen to want a nozzle for my planer. Makita Australia gave me the correct part numbers and there are 2 parts to get for dust extration, 181572-5 which is a blue plastic bit and jpa122275 which looks like a rubber adaptor for hose fitting. the part number 152122-3 is a nozzle but is the first bit of the chip deflector one. Putting up this post just in case someone else looking for dust extraction nozzle for makita planers. Not cheap here though 181572 is over $30 and the other one is about $20. In Japan each part costs 420yen!! but then there's the postage. In Netherlands price is about 10 Euro plus post. Either is cheaper than buying local!! I think I will keep on planing in the garden. This way all the chips can be used for compost.

I agree the price to collect the chips and dust is high. I am sure my tool shop does not want to sell the adaptor for dust extraction. I think I paid over $100 for the dust bag - but money well spent when it prevents stuff going everywhere.
Only negative is you can not alter location of bag. Cannot always alter location of planning.
