    Default SIP Compressors???

Does anyone know anything about SIP air compressors. My old man is thinking about starting to sand blast pattens on glass plates he makes and is thinking about getting a compressor. As I currently use a cheap unit to spary my work and clean the workshop, I am thinking about sharing the cost with him and upgrading my little unit.

He is looking at a 19cmf 3.5hp belt driven unit second hand and I am wondering if these units are any good.

you should not have many problems with that, SIP compressors are mainly Italian made and are quite good, if you are going for a second hand one just take the time to check the oil in the visi glass and make sure it doesn't look like sludge, this will indicate that the oil is old and needs replacing, also check the air filters.

    Yup what smeds said.
At 19cfm 3.5hp make sure that one is running off a 15amp supply!
SIP are in the midrange area and virtualy the same as a clisby(most of these brands use italian pumps), if you want higher you'd be looking at a brand like Ingersol-rand(unsure on the spelling?).
Compressors are one of those tools where you need to buy the best you can afford, they are to versatile not too!
