Default Sliding Compound Mitre Saws, good second hand.

I'm weighing up a few options for a second hand SCMS with the aim of picking up a good quality second hand model. After some opinions on the following options currently available.

Makita LS1013, asking price $415. Well regarded older model, looks like it's in good condition.
Makita LS1016, asking price $700. I think this replaced the LS1013, Chinese made but well regarded.
    Makita LS1018, asking price $250 - $400. Handyman version of the LS1016.
Bosch GCM 12 SD Professional. Asking price $600. Also seems well regarded.

Current preference is the Makita LS1013, is around $400 a decent price for a good condition example? My only concern is availability of parts as I intend to keep it for a long time. Any downsides to this model?

I have both a 1013 and a 1016, and I can tell you from personal experience that the two saws are worlds apart. I think the 1016 is an overpriced piece of junk. The 1013, on the other hand is a great saw and I would have another in a heartbeat. The only downsides that I felt it had was that most of the dust ended up on the floor instead of in the dust bag, and the long rails meant that if you wanted to use it on a bench you need a lot of room behind it.

Thanks cjbfischer, that's the kind of info I was after.

riverbuilder a good mate of mine has a Kapex, he hardly ever uses it and is happy for his mates to borrow it. Yes it's a beautiful piece of kit, no I can't afford one nor have I ever seen one for sale second hand. I have a standing order in with my mate if he ever decides to pass it on.

This is what you're looking for, isn't it? For those either offput or too lazy to look beyond the listing's title, it's actually the referenced Makita SCMS.

Cheers Ratbag, that's definitely not a radial arm saw! I already picked one up from a local Gumtree sale, I'll give it a little tidy up but it's in good order and should last me years.
