Default soundmans dust spout for woodbutcher

here are a couple of pictures of my upgraded overhead guard arrangements on my sawbench as requested by woodbutcher.

the original overhead guard had one 2 1/2 inch dust outlet.... this was bored out to 3" as soon as I got it home... thats the front hose connection

I added an aditional 3" at the back for a bit more air flow.
the two were joined into a single 4" rigid pipe that is straped to the guard arm with hose clips.

the weirdo "Y" was mage by cutting a 3" joiner in half then slicing the two parts to make the "Y" those two halves were glued together.

the 4" pvc pipe was then formed with the aid of a bucket of boiling water and some pushing and pokeing.

the whole lot was then glued together with conduit/ plumbers cement..... any gaps.... yes there were some... were smothed over with polyeurathane sealant..... when dry the inside was smothed off with sand paper.

with the guard hard down on the work nothing much escapes.

inside the hood I have placed some curved bits of hard foam and some sealer to fair up the airflow.

    cheers
