Source of 82mm Planer Blades?
I'm looking for a reliable and economical supply of 82mm Planer Blades. Doesn't have to be local as they're light and fly well.
I had a search through this forum but didn't find what I was looking for (but I found far too much interesting stuff...) so I thought I'd ask.
I'm renovating a cottage that was built in the 1920s, and there's lots of old jarrah and whitegum that needs smoothing and truing up. Problem is that it's really hard and isn't kind to any sharp edge presented to it, so I think I'm going to need either a steady supply or some incredibly tough blades/knives.
I've seen a few past auctions on eBay, and there's always Bunnings, but I'm looking for a personal recommendation.
What's the best blade I can fit to a Bosch GHO 26-82, and where's the optimum place to get them from?
Thanks!

I'd take a blade to your local saw blade sharpener and he should be able to make them to spec for you.

Sounds like you're using the Carbide blades, if so you can pick them up pretty cheap at Bunnings, last time I looked they had various brands and some had more in the packet than others for similar prices.
And if you're not using the carbide blades, get them as they'll outlast the HSS on paint or general grit on the boards.Cheers

Tanks.
Thanks for the feedback. I bought a pack of 10 Universal fit 82mm blades, Craftsmaster brand, from Bunnings for $57.
I'm still using the original blade in my plane so I have no idea yet if they fit. It's been fine so far - when I can get enough room to work it: I've had to resort to old faithful hand tools and elbow grease for the past week for some tight spaces.

I used to buy them from a supplier on ebay, much cheaper than Bunnings. Havent bought any for a while though, but worth checking into if you use a few.
