    Default ST-12D Saw

I was wondering if anyone who has one of these saws can help me. A while ago H&F had them advertised with the mobile base, did anyone buy one with the base and how has it worked. From the photos in their cattledog

it looks like the wheels are a long way out and seeing it is such a heavy machine I was wondering has the frame bent at all and does it push easily. I have one and I either have to buy the H&F version or build my own. If I built my own I would put the wheels in the cabinet, the thing is so heavy I can't see the need to lock them.

I bought this one used from Brendan (Felders). It is 3 phase and only a bare saw with no sliding table etc. After I set it up so that everything was square etc it is a bloody ripper. I don't know how they used it before I got it but knowing where the saw came from I suspect it got little use anyway. I would not hesitate to buy another but I have found I need it mobile as the fences are so long, I have a 9.5 x 4.5 shed and it still gets in the way. The only thing I can fault on it is the guard, as with all these saws it is a pain and I will make a new one. Be prepared to make a zero clearance insert very early on in the piece as the stock insert leaves a big hole between the fence and the blade, maybe they all do this? It needs an arbor extension if you are wanting to used a dado set, but that doesn't concern me. The fence is nice and solid, but I am comparing that to a contracter saw I had until recently. I am tossing up on modifying the fence setup so that it automatically locks on the millimetre setting without trying to judge it on the tape, but this is common to all saws unless megabucks are spent on an incra fence and I dont intend to do that as I will never use most of its features.
