Default Stainless steel sheet for battery terminals

Ive now bought into a couple of brands of power tools and I want to make some battery adapters so I can use another brands batteries if I forget to charge some. Eg something like this:

Makita to Bosch Battery Adapter by maxxer - Thingiverse

It calls for 1mm stainless steel to be used as terminals. It can be purchased on ebay/aliexpress but shipping is a long time away. Any ideas where I can get it for a reasonable price and a bit faster? Happy to salvage it from another product if you have any ideas or suitable replacement...does it HAVE to be stainless?

Standard flashing is .6mm so maybe try local plumber or I see you in melb so robot building or similar that make flashing.
no idea on why stainless I would have thought copper or brass?

It needs the 'spring' quality of stainless and not be prone to tarnishing. Try an electrical contractor for some offcuts or a short length of SS band-it strap.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

    Thanks all.

You think galvanised steel is ok? I got heaps of this type of stuff
    Abey 25 x 0.8mm x 30m Punched Strapping - Bunnings Australia

Or maybe these shelves are the correct thickness
    Handy Storage 137 x 71 x 30.5cm Galvanised 4 Shelf Unit - Bunnings Australia

Looking online, some people are using copper (which I think is even harder to get) or someone used 'zinc piping' which they cut and flattened. I assume zinc piping is just galvanised steel?

Qwertyu, have you tried a model makers shop? For example:

As NCArcher has said it needs to be a spring quality of stainless. Much of the sheet stainless material for sale will not be suitable. You need a ferritic stainless, the main additive is chrome with very little or no nickel.

Interestingly the most common material used as battery terminals are Nickel plated steel, or better still pure nickel strips.

Stainless steel is a relatively poor conductor of electricity being about 6x worse than straight iron, while Nickel has about a 10x greater conductivity than SS

    Old battery packs?

Stainless is a lot easier to find, eg: clothes drier drums, old BBQs etc, honestly I would use new Ni strips.
You don't have to wait 6 weeks to get it from china.
eg NICKEL STRIP STRIPS PLATED & PURE Ni 18650 BATTERY CELL SPOT WELDING STRAP | eBay

This one says it will deliver free between 9 and 16 Nov. Express post by Nov 8.

I have some stainless, but I am not sure it quite meets the requirements. I measure it at 0.6mm, but it is not spring steel and it is not magnetic. It has a gentle curvature to it, which I don't think would matter as you will be forming it anyway.

    Size is 450mm x 170mm

If it is suitable you would be welcome to it for postage cost.

    Regards
    Paul

Stainless steel hose clamps. You can buy them just about anywhere. Most will be about 0.7mm thick.
