Stanley hand planes.
Stanley hand planes.
I went for a drive today and visited an anteek shop in Coldstream Vic.
They had a few planes so they may be worth a visit.
They even had a compass plane but I couldnt see the price.
The other planes seemed cheap, but I dont know what Im looking at.
The shop is on the right hand side heading towards Yarra Glen from Lilydale.

No idea Dan.
There was a biggish plane there about 10-12" long.
It was the other Stanley brand, buggered if I can remember the name.
We went through a couple of anteek shops today so prices are a blur.
But the one in Coldstream had the better planes.
I rember going to the shop in Coldstream 2 years ago and they had a whole tool chest of old Darkside stuff, I was going to buy it holus bolus, but they wanted $650.
I think these planes are from the same stash..
Maybe I should have bought the lot?

Stanley Bailey BENCH PLANES are numbered according to size. #1 being the smallest & #8 being the biggest. All numbers after these are for specialist planes. eg; #10 or #10½ or #10¼ are rebate planes with the blades full width of the body.
Have a look at the bible on all Stanley planes HERE Patrick Leach will guide you through all Stanley planes
