Staple Gun
I am building our two kittens a climbing tower/condo that they can climb, play and scratch on.
Question: I have a hand held staple gun (not air powered) that I have used a long time ago to staple suede to cheap timber.
Could it be used to staple carpet to plywood do you think?
Would it be better to get an air powered one?
Cheers

Isn't carpet usually glued onto scratching posts ?
I'd have thought claws and staples would clash.

Who'd thunk ?
They did get some around pretty tight bends, corners and angles that would be hard with glue alone.

I just rang the Big Green Shed.
I swore blind I would never own anything Ozito, but they have an air powered stapler / nailer for $36 with a three year warranty.
How can you go passed that.....
Off I go in a minute ....

Well I have a story to share.
Went out Friday afternoon to buy it at the Big Green Shed.
Picked up the box and it looked to me like it had previously been opened. I asked the guy there can we open it up to check, he assured me I needn't worry that it is just how the packaging comes sometimes.
I then asked about staples as it takes between 8mm to 16mm.
Bunnings do not stock greater than 12mm, I know what the?
He also told me it doesn't work with heavy duty staples...
Oh and according to the box it comes with 480 staples and nails as well.
I then went home and as I was busy with other things I didn't open the box until Sunday morning and what do you know, staples and nails are missing........I was annoyed to say the least, partly at myself for not insisting that he open the box.
I couldn't be bothered going back to Bunnings so I went down to a local hardware shop and we tested it but it seemed the gun was broken....grrrrrr
Went back to Bunnings they said do you want to swap it for another one, I said yes, I grabbed the last one on the shelf and this one also looked like it had previously been opened.
I got them to open it, and what do you know, the manual was missing, all staples mising etc.
They had to ring another store, so I had to drive to another store and finally I got one that hadn't been opened.
I also bought some heavy duty staples as it looked to me like they would work. Well what do you know, got home put the heavy duty staples inside and it works perfectly.
Well this is my Monday morning rant )
Cheers

ARRY,
I had a similar experience when I was looking for a New Orbital Sander, I saw an opened Bosch sander box on the shelf, when I opened it fully , i found someone had removed the new machine and replaced it with a used machine of the same model.
I Grabbed an assistant and showed him , and he said that it was the first time he had ever seen this.
Some people are just too cheeky to believe, and their dishonesty costs us all, with increased prices.
