If you look on 'made in china' there are literally hundreds of companies who will supply these things.
Prob is, price is ex factory china. Add shipping, customs, duty, etc, etc you are not far off the Aus price. And for that you have to give your credit card details to an unknown chinese company for a product you have never seen.
Having bought and imported stuff from china many times, some are good many are not. Unless it is cheap enough to justify getting an independent certifier to check before loading and escrow the money, prob not worth it.

Yeah I understand that it is risky buying china but I have bought alot of jewellery tools from china and they have been pretty good. Regarding the price that includes shipping to Sydney and there is no customs or duty as it is below $1000

Seems to me you have already made up your mind and just want to be reassured. Many of the machines we buy over here in Australia are made in China. I think you just have to take the bull by the horns and go for it if thats what you want to do. Not sure what you can buy in Australia for that kind of money at the moment. Good luck whatever you decide to do.
Reality is no background music.

If you have problems it may cost you more to rectify if there is no local agent.
Motor is rated at 3HP, but what voltage as you also mention US$.
Sometimes it is better to pay a few $ more if not sure of quality and back up just for piece of mind. If you are prepared to risk losing purchase price then go for it.

secondhand too
I don't know if you have 3 phase power ... or your time-frame ... but if you're not in a big rush then you can get real value in buying secondhand ...
In the near new region, people do end up selling stuff they've bought new and then not had time to use properly ...
Or if you are willing to (potentially) be a bit handy, then older equipment can do a great job. Almost always *much* cheaper than the new alternative, but you want to clue up on what needs to be working well, and what is easy to remedy.
I have equipment that ranges from 1940s up to ?? 1970/80s and stoked to have every piece ... probably a bit more of good luck than good judgement in my case but at least an option to consider.
Cheers,
Paul McGee
