Dominions Rd, is behind our factory.

Ditto to the previous post on left handed circular saws. Damn hard to find and the race is in .... cut timber or fingers. Fingers are currently losing..

I thought left-handers are supposed to be smart. Can’t you work out how to use right handed tools.

No, but we have very strict gun laws.

    Hi Ryan,
Are you talking just tools or all the little things as well.

The frustration I have is that it is hard to find the little things at a reasonable price. Like T-tracks, knobs, other jig bits and pieces.
Off course Carba-Tec and alike have a reasonable range, but it would be nice to have a Rockler or Leevaley equivalent here in AUS. I doubt we would ever be that big, but something that caters to the hard to get stuff.

    My idea is this:
Since we all seem to need (from time to time) the same things.
If we had a store that would order things on our behalf, and if they had a couple of orders at the same time, the postage cost would be distributed/reduced. Of course there would be local postage costs.
If "the store" ordered a few extra items as well, eventually we would have a mini-Rockler .

I am sure this idea has been discussed many times, if so I appologise and feel free to ignore the topic.

If there is already a retailer here that is doing this then please let me know. As a new comer to woodworking I am still very "green"

Hem, I think such an idea will never work. A retailer would go belly up in 2 minutes. Most of the US mail order stuff that is popular,ie sells well in the US, is probably popular here and is stocked under one name or another by Australian specialist woodwork stores. The weird stuff which a few folk will always want, is just not popular enough for any importer to survive the MOQ (minimum order quantities) stipulated by the manufacturers. So the fact that these items are not on the shelves of suppliers like Carba-Tec is probably indicative of the fact that there is not enough demand to bring them into Aus.
It is not possible to bring these items in from an American mail order house, pay freight, cover operating overheads and supply them to a retail customer at anything approaching an acceptable sell price.

    Hi Lyctus,
It probably wouldn't work as a standalone bussiness, but maybe if it was something an already existing business did then maybe it would.
But hey, just an idea, i have about 100000000 (thats a gazillion) of these ideas a day Maybe one day one of these ideas will be worth something
You guys are lucky I don't post all of them.

This site belongs to a forum member: http://www.woodpeckers.com.au/

He sells some of the jig-related items plus other bit and pieces.
