Track Saws, Makita Guide Rail adapter vs Dedicated Track saw (plunge saw)
Hi,
I have a Makita DHS680Z 18v Circular saw, and am considering buying a track saw. I see that I can buy a Guide rail adapter for my saw which will connect it to a track so I can use it like a track saw. The Guide rail and a track would cost me just under $200.
For a $100 more I could buy a Detroit plunge saw and track.
Just wondering would I be better off buying a Dedicated track saw (plunge saw) or would the guide rail adapter and my Circular saw work just as well and be as accurate.
The Detroit plunge saw is 240V which is a negative for me, I would prefer Cordless. If anyone uses a Makita with the guide rail adapter I would be keen to know your thoughts on it.
Thanks,
Gordon

It depends on what you are wanting to cut and how neate and accurate you are wanting
A track saw gives a far superior cut but you may not need that?
,I suggest you try a cut with your battery saw with a straight edge and see if you are happy with the outcome
It won’t be any better with the adapter kit just easier to use
