Triton Router problem

Hi All,
I have a Triton router mounted in the router table and most times, but not always, I cannot get the body up high enough to expose the collet and lock the arm for bit changing.

It's a solid stop when it happens, not gradual like you would expect if the body was twisted on the guides. Had the machine out and tried the actual handle rather than the extension arm through the plate, same deal.
Feels like it's the side where the pre-set stop pillar is. I'm confident its not that though as when it won't move the chrome pillar still does.
Looking for anyone who may have experienced this and found the culprit

I had a similar issue a while ago.

It was accumulated dust inside the body that was stopping the body from going full travel. From memory, I pulled off a few bits to get at the dust and blew it all out with a compressor.

Sorry, cant remember more detail, it was quite a while ago.

When this happens to me......it's because I've forgotten to turn off the power switch on the body of the router itself.

Mine is wired through a push-to-stop switch on the edge of the router table, so power switch on the router itself is always left on. In this position there is some kind of interlock to prevent the collet being raised right up.

Is this the TRA-001? You may already be aware but the router will not allow you to raise the body high enough to expose/lock the collet (when mounted in a router table) if the power switch and cover are in the 'on' position. The router needs to be switched off and the sliding plastic switch cover engaged for it to pass a certain height.

For me i run the router through a paddle switch mounted to the front of the router table and still to change bits I need to open the router table cabinet and flick the router off, close the plastic switch cover/guard to then raise the router high enough to lock the collet and change bits.

I did have a couple of instances where the clear plastic power switch cover stuck in the open position even after the power switch had been turned off. This is enough to prevent the collet being raised. Just have to jiggle the switch cover until it slides over and covers the power switch (as it is supposed to), then the interlock won't come into effect.

Well I'll be stuffed... the power switch will be it...I too have a separate switch mounted on the table so it all makes sense now..

Hey - we've all done it. Very easy to forget if you haven't needed to change bits in quite while.
