I've got the 5007MGK -185MM CIRCULAR SAW Matika.
Used it to cut redgum/jarrah/blackbutt at near maximal depth without too much challenge. Def. i'm happy with it.
Thing I don't like is lack of dust extraction.

Makita 9 1/4 bought sometime in the mid 70's - bullet proof.

Only problem I have had is that the base plate went rusty and would not slide as easily as I would like it to do. Solution was to remove it, "pickle it" in vinegar for 48 hours, scrub it with a wire brush and then paint it with silverfrost. Never been a problem since except that you can no longer get silverfrost so if it ever needs doing again I'll have to find another coating.

    Regards,
    Bob

    Makita 6 1/4, Makita & Hitachi 7 1/4, Festool 7 1/4, Hitachi 8 1/4.
    I prefer Hitachi saws - the 7 1/4 & 8 1/4 get an equal amount of work..

The big Triton's my main user; I had a small 7¼ B&D but it also let the magic black smoke out.

I'm looking at replacing the B&D with a battery model, as the Triton's too damned heavy to use overhead for long. eg. trimming fences.

(Looking, as in: "it's on my wish list but ain't happening soon.". )
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

    Thumbs up

Have an Hitachi 91/4 that is about 35 years old.

If I was ever to replace it I would get the new Hitachi.

My circular saw is older than i am (i think). it is on of those mustard colur black and decker saws. By memory the blade size is 140mm. so i'm off to my Nannas to get my uncles black Black and decker circular saw(if it works).
