Thread: What type of circular saw do you have?

I have a Bosch GKS 7 1/4

Favorite by a country mile is the 6 1/4.

I bought a 9 1/4 Black And Decker Saw Cat (Now a Dewalt) years ago when I was a 1st year. Unfortuantly 6 months later someone decided they needed it more than me, replaced it with the 8 1/4 and never found the need to get another 9 1/4.

I have a makita 7 1/4. 20 plus wears old and I can't ware it out.

BUM the one i was goin to get from nanna's hasnt got a saftey guard

but picked up a fan motor mounted to a drill disk sander atachment.

Makita 9 1/4" x 2 and a crappy GMC 7 1/4". These days I rarely if ever use the bigger saws as I don't need the depth of cut and they are to heavy for most tasks. The little GMC is fine, but if I was to start again now a 7 1/4" Makita would be all I'd buy.

Me, well just the Festool TS55 and the Makita N5900B (235mm). Seems to cater for all of my wood butchering needs.

De Walt 184, used constantly.
GMC Platinum 235, used a fair bit for bearers etc.
Towa speed saw 235, mounted on an old Triton table, mainly used for ripping.
Skil Sher 5 & a quarter, hand me down from the 1960's, only for show.

Mine is most likely like Soloist's saw.
Big, Heavy, Powerful " Towa " 9 1/4in. When this saw was made, I don't think
mm. were in then, so that is why I stated Inches.
A very nice saw, & as I said Powerful, & with a 60 tooth TCT Blade, so you hang on reasonably tight.
Paid $70 from a Dec. Estate.
I thought that was about right money at that time, 10 yrs ago.

My Dad's old AEG 7 1/4". It's never missed a beat in all its 30+ or so years.

Im lucky. A Festool TS75

235mm GMC and a B & D 7 1/4 inch.

25 year old makita 9 1/4 inch.....still going strong as the day I bought it.
