    Default UK tool retailer

I came across this English company on the net. It seems like they have an online store only rather than a shop. While shipping from the UK to here is probably not economic there are some interesting hand and power tools.

Also, at the top of the home page is a link to buying guides which are very informative and interesting.

Not that they do ship to Australia. I've tried, but they don't deal beyond mainland Europe!

Try this mob.Axminster Power Tool Centre : Power Tools to your door
They will ship to Oz and are OK to deal with. I got a set of chisels from them a while back. The exchange rate is good at the moment. If you do the homework and check the shipping cost some good savings can be made on lighter items. There will be a cut off point where the shipping will be too expensive on larger items.

I've recently been buying my turning tools from here:

You have to knock 17.5% off the price (their VAT is similar to GST but higher) when you're looking. When you go to the checkout it will automatically deduct the VAT when you punch in a foreign address, they will then contact you with a total price including postage.

While these chaps ASK Tools have proven rather good too. For example; Hamlet turning tools, at your doorstep for about 40% cheaper than a well-known local supplier.
