Unisaw (Unisaw or MB300)
As an aside to the referred thread I was in Carba-Tec yesterday and enquired about the availability of Delta Table saws. The gentleman told me if the main shop in Qld. has them in stock it is a couple of weeks. Otherwise to get them from The States takes an eternity. Apparantly some have been waiting for the Unisaw since the last Woodworking show here in Melbourne which was 10 mths ago!!
So I guess I save money and consider a Jet table saw *S*.
Mick.

This is not really on point with this particular thread, but can anyone say whether the Ledacraft TC-12 table saw (see picture below)is the same saw as the MBS 300 in all respects except for the cabinet shape? It has been claimed by a salesman at Leda Machinery in Adelaide that both machines come from the Mickiway factory in Taiwan. Can anyone out there verify (or refute) this please? I am In the market for a MBS 300 or very similar saw. I notice that HAFCO have the ST-12S which also looks very similar- is that one sourced from the same place too?
Cheers,

I believe this has been discussed previously - to some extent.

It is also wrong to assume that because saw A and saw B are both manufactured in the same factory, and perhaps even look the same, that they are of equal quality. Manufacturers in Taiwan will apply the quality standards requested by the brand owner/buyer, and that can vary in areas which you can't see.

Thanks for the comment Ken.
Are you therefore suggesting that the MBS is a superior machine to the others I mentioned?

MBS300
The Woodworking Warehouse in Braeside, Vic., also supply this saw. They refer to it as a TS222(MBS300).
It takes a 305mm (12") Saw Blade'; has a 3hp 1 phase motor with a three belt drive, the bore is 30mm, depth of cut @90 degrees is 101.6mm, @45 degrees is 70. The table top is solid cast iron at 1220 x 965. Unit weighs 260kg. Comes with a retractable riving knife and a Suva Blade Guard/Dust extractor.
Current cost about $3000.
