I'm in the US next week. Does anyone want me to bring back copies of the "DIY Wiring Guide for Dummies" book? I know it will be all 110v but is that an issue? Why the fish?

This is something that worried me when I was buying my TSC10HB but Gatiep (remember him, I wonder what happened to him) posted the following in post 10

" It does come with a 15 amp plug, I have a 15 amp circuit but tested the current draw because I am a curious bugger. It is drawing 4 amp at no load. Its max draw on start up was 9.25 amps for a split second. I think that it is standard practice in China to fit a 15 amp plug regardless of what the 3 HP motor draws. Please note, I am not saying that the plug may be changed."

I think that is right as I can run a 2hp DC motor, a 1hp booster DC motor, a vacuum cleaner and radio as well as the TSC10HB at the same time without any problem on a standard circuit with a 16amp circuit breaker.

It's when I have a 750 watt bar radiator on as well that I trip the circuit breaker. BTW mine came with a standard plug and not the 15amp plug.

My TSC10HB saw came with a 10amp plug molded on the cord, the salesman at CT Sydney said the saws were rated for 10 amps the motor is supposed to be 3 hp, I have it connected to the GPO with a 15 amp caravan extension lead. Yes it dims the lights on startup but I am 75 feet from the switchboard. Now if the figures are correct and 750 watts = 1 HP then 3 HP = 2250 watts 10 amps = 240 vac * 10 = 2400 watts so the saw is drawing less than 10 amps.I have a clamp meter that reads the amps being drawn thru the lead, tomorrow I will test the current being drawn. In my case I only use one machine at a time so I am not worried.

The problem for me is that my DC also has a 3hp motor, so if I have the saw and the DC running, then I could have a problem on a 10 amp circuit. Interestingly, the DC came with a 10amp plug. I regularly run the thicknesser and DC or the jointer (2hp) and DC at the same time on the same circuit and have never had a problem, although I usually start the DC before switching on the other machine.

Yep I've thought of either making some longer fence rails, or shifting the existing ones to the right. Haven't needed to rip very much wider than that yet though, the couple of times I've needed to, I just use the circular saw.

Sure does, it's got a huge dial on the tilt handwheel which indicates (very accurately) the angle. The other saw, which I'm selling, doesnt.
