Default Vintage C 1980 Lamello blade rotates but does not exit the housing

    G’day all,
This is an early model Lamello TOP which is working but the blade does no exit cut and retract. I have no manual. The machine was clogged up with glue and fine sawdust which I’ve cleaned.

Can any Lamello owners or people who know about ancient biscuit joiner offer me advice for getting the machine operational?

I’m including images to clarify the situation of the position of the depth guide, which is very different from modern ones.

    Thanks in advance

So when you press the machine against a piece of stock does it not plunge forward until it hits the stop?

Camelot, the housing only plunged so far yesterday. I thought I had got all the glued sawdust out, but when I shone the torch light there was more gunk.

Once I had cleared the gunk from the ‘rail’s and gave each side a puff of graphite (which came with the kit) it plunged forward for a perfect groove.
    Hello Lamello.

I can’t believe there was that much glue stopping this.
The previous owner must have been recutting holes which he’d put glue in?

I have the exact identical machine which I bought at auction about 35 years ago from a production joinery.
It has a bit of slop on the rails so I lift the body of the machine whilst plunging it otherwise the slot can be a bit wide therefore not achieving a perfect alignment when joining boards.

Not as bad as the Porter Cable ones Carbacrap was selling in the late 90s, the blade on these was like a wobble saw due to a badly machined spacer. Geoff said ‘it’s only woodwork your too fussy, just sell the product’.
