carbatec
just a suggestion-
judging by the enormous number of posts about Carbatec Victoria most of us who live in Melbourne have bought items from Carbatec in the past - at Richmond and for some now at their new store.
And because they have a great catalogue of woodworking tools most of us would probably like to keep buying from them providing they can supply catalogue items immediately or with an acceptable delay and at reasonable prices.
So why don't we once and for all ask Head office in Brisbane and the branch at Bayswater to advise this forum just where the business is going.
That is, does Brisbane fully support Bayswater in its endeavours and if so what can be done to improve supplies.
Despite problems I believe that there is still a reasonable goodwill amongst us for Carbatec in Victoria.
Interested in other opinions.
regards

It surprises me how few companies use this forum. It would be a great way to monitor client satisfaction and to gauge the market. Vertiacc did himself a lot of favours by responding on this forum. They laughed when I said I was going to be a comedian. They're not laughing now.

Im with lesmeyer on this, Carba-Tec WA have been fantastic to me. And I live 2 hours away. I think a bit of foresight is handy when dealing with tools and companies though. Nothing pisses me off more than traveling somewhere to find out they havent got what I need. The phone / email is your friend.
It's surprising that they do not have more of a presence on these forums. Customer relations should be important to these guys. After all Bunnings is a lot more convenient, even if they do only stock low-mid end equipment (especially handtools) and second rate timber.

Edit: They ought to distribute their dogalogue a little more freely too.Last edited by Woodlice; 23rd February 2005 at 08:36 PM.

My opinion is neither copyrighted nor trademarked, and its price is competitive. If you like, I'll trade for one of yours.

Apart from having to wait since Oct (Woodworking show) until today for my bandsaw, I have always had very good service from Carba-Tec at Bayswater.
I do not believe that their stock situation is entirely of their own making, but that Bayswater is impacted by what stock Brisbane is willing to release.
I know that the staff at Bayswater are aware how customers feel about their inability to service customer requirements.
