Thread: Wide Belt Sander problem

I've got basically the same machine, a TruPro 16/32 from Gregory Machinery and it had me stuffed for a while too . You can't see it but the motor end clamping mechanism is on a spring loaded tensioning slide or swivel (can't remember exactly and it doesn't matter anyway). You need to load the paper starting from the other end. If you reach a finger around the end of the drum you should be able to swivel (or slide) the clamping mechanism so that its opening lines up with the slot in the drum. Once you thread the paper in as tight as you can get it you release the clamp and the spring loading tensions the paper. It helps if you pre-fold or crease the paper where it goes through the drum, this helps to get it nice and flat and tight. Hope that makes sense, I remember being down in my shed late at night trying to get a job out and cursing the bloody thing :mad: , wish I knew about this BB then!
