Hi ! I have been given a Wolf 3204 drill with a tired main bearing. The chuck wobbles around relative to the main housing.

I've popped the gearbox off the front of the drill motor (four screws - even I could work that one out !), and lifted out the idler gear and mechanism. The drive gear on the back of the chuck shaft looked like it was held onto a plastic shaft with a grippy spring washer thing. I popped that off, but the gear still wont budge. I'm assuming that the gear needs to be pulled off to reveal the bearing underneath and whatever holds it in place ? I haven't taken the chuck off yet, as it is seriously tight - do you think it will be necessary ?
All advice welcome - I'll try to grab some pics to illustrate what I've found so far.

From a look through the forum, it would seem that collectors are gathering up Wolf tools, but maybe this drill isn't old enough yet - if someone had a similar drill with a burnt motor for example, the two might be able to be combined - I'm open to suggestions and offers, and not emotionally attached to this drill at all. It just seems too good to chuck away for what should be a simple bearing swap !
