    Default Woodfast Combo on E-Bay

Although I sell machinery for a living, I have no affiliation with this one. No responsibility blah blah blah.

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/WOODFAST-Tabl...QQcmdZViewItem

Could be a good buy for someone. These old Woodfasts are generally very solid pieces of equipment, and I reckon they are being conservative with their estimate of 250-300kgs. They are also simple machines to fix if something goes wrong.
Having been at a school, it probably hasn't too much work, either.

Just thought I'd give a heads up.

Couple of problems, blade does not tilt and it is 415 Volt power, whatever that means. Presumably won't run off normal power.

    Thanks for heads up, Felder

Looks a very good buy for anyone in Sydney, even if the blade doesn't cant over. Nice solid piece of machinery.

I wonder what the freight would be to Melbourne for something like that? As with Felder, I'd guess that their weight estimation is way too low...

This is a good solid machine, and was pointed out, it is in a school. The 3 phase is easy to get around as for the lack of tilt on the saw, how often do you need that? By the way, the fence tilts.

I picked a good week to try and stop buying things on ebay  this week I've bought a flash, lens, film carrier, slide carousel, a washing machine - I think I have a problem!

It does look like an excellent thing, the fence and adjustments in particular.
    Motor options,
    • change motor to single phase - more ebaying
    • Three phase to single phase convertor . I had some info on one of those once. I think use the motor to generate the correct phase angles, but seem to work just fine, expensive, but still cheaper that re-wiring the house.
    • btw a three phase motor is always a better choice, especially for this type of load. the currents are less, and the three phases give a rotating field, no starting windings required. Maybe I'll get a quote

Probably more over that sort of distance. Quotes vary so much, depending on the exact nature of the installation.
