Jacks Boat
Here it is guys,
Well the picture isn't actually mine.
Mine is still being built, I should have it in two weeks.
Mine is black but without the graphics, and it will have a 140hp 4 Suzuki 4 stroke on the back.
It is also a bit bigger than the one pictured
It is a 5.5 metre ally plate bowrider made by Formosa on the Gold Coast.
I thought that seeing as my tools are going to be locked in a container for the next 18 months I needed a new toy.
Cheers, Jack."There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it's all dark."

Jack,
Can you post a further picture once you have it rigged?
From what I can see, the canopy looks as though it will get in the way of the mast.
I think you are going to enjoy TI!
Cheers,
P

Silly Midge,
It has two masts
One at the front, one at the back, please substitute your own nautical terms.

No but we had something interesting happen the other day.
We Trolled for Mackeral for about an hour with no luck so decided to try a bit of drift fishing over a reef.
All of a sudden "wham", my 80lb hand line took off. It couldn't be stopped for a while and then it took two of us to haul the fish in. It was hard work and a comedy of errors.
Anyway, as I said, it was 80lb line, no wire trace and all that was on the end was a piece of squid on a hook. Here is what we pulled in (the one on my right, I am 192cm tall)

So was it both at the same time?
And on a hand line too.........I bet you have much more expensive tackle
Blasted fish don't appreciate expensive tackle

Did you catch another 42 (or was it 45) and hand 'em around all the other boats?
Seriously, bloody good fish

Nice spaniards Jack. Lucky you got them without a trace. They can be such a frustrating fish to target sometimes. Do everything right and get nothing then like you said, a bit of squid without a trace and you're on.
Recently, I had livies on day after day hoping for a spaniard and nothing. Seriously jealous.
Is that a Trailcraft you are standing in front of?

those mackrel are good fish and fun to catch. the only spaniard i have ever caught was only 70cm long i have been weighting for one like that.
I am so very jealous.
watch out or some of the other members will start going on about how you could of got a good feed out of one and did not need to keep the other.

I don't get it???
Soundman, you are right, I do have alot more expensive tackle, that's what the one on my left was caught on, along with a few others.
Cliff, Thanks mate
Boban, yes that is a trailcraft, 6.4m half cab. Pretty good to fish out of, heaps of room, it can be a little bit bumpy in the rough stuff.
As far as targeting Mackeral go, they're not to hard to target up here. Generally a bit of trolling with the right lure and you'll get a few.
Although I tried this the other day and we got mostly tuna, I did have fun pulling in a black tip reef shark (about 25kg) which absolutely smashed my lure.
Weisyboy, I thoroughly recommend the waters around TI if you want to catch some Big Macs.
Let me assure the other members that no fish was wasted
