1.3m diamiter camphour to be slabed
Finely got back in to sum milling as this truck has been taking all of my time up.But now its time for it to give some back.
I have this 1.3m diamiter stump of camphour to be slabbed, as you can see i had no truble moveing it around.
cant say the same for the dismantaling as some of the branches (logs some 600mm) were about 3m up over my head

camphor
We have 2 coffee tables bade out of natural timber. The tops are horizontal slabbed pieces with the legs made of natural branches. They look great and our visitors have admired them. At 1.3 metres the log is the right size to make this sort of table.

maxed out.jpg
Ok I got the mill set up and winched it right up to the top.
then i saw that i was going to have to trim of a small amount to fit the masiv chunk i was going to have to take of before i could get my first slab.
I will have to cut that bit later.
My phone ran out of batery befor i got any desent pics of grain(straight).

All done
Got out of there yesterday.
With a 1.2cubic m pack of 35mm slabs, seam a shame to cut it all up in to coping bords.
I did keep the best cut (60mm) for a coffe table for myself to remind me of that big tree.
I do think i lost my phone on out there so may be no pics of the pack for a while.
