Advice on PS9010
HI, Have got a Dolmar PS9010 that won't idle real good, and doesn't seem to want to rev out real hard. Runs like the fuel mix is way to rich? Can anyone give me a rough guide how I should go about tuning it myself? Many Thanks, Mark.

Good question there are various chain saw recomedations in here I ve just tryed to spend 40min explaining by typing but it all turns gobbly gook basically turn both screws all the way to the right that closes the carby up then graduly open them up the other thing is its a dolmar it wont rev out hard like a stihl it doesnt need to. One other thing is if you dont know the fuel dump it and make a fresh batch

Before you worry about tuning it I would pressure test the crank case. You could have a small air leak and if you run it like that you will wreck it.

You may want to check up the exhaust for a mud wasp nest. Should be visible from the outside.

Saw has been running great over the past year or so, but just recently it seems to be giving me greif. Still cuts ok, but when I put saw down it won't idle for long, and can get painful after a while starting all the time. When you say turn both screws in then slowly back of, do you back both off the same? Do you have the saw running while trying to do this? I'm not sure I fully understand. Thanks, Mark.

Scew them both in so they seat, then bring them back out 3/4 of a turn. Saw should start on this setting but a bit rough. ie wont idle. Warm up for 30 sec or so then go to full throttle. Adjust "high" speed screw/ jet till engine reaches max rpm (sounds great but dont leave it there as engine is "leaned out" and will eventually cause damage) Turn screw back out 1/8 of a turn. Revs should come back off of peak. Let saw come back to idle, then gun it. Will most likely die or halter/ flat spot so bring out low speed jet in small increments, 1/8th or less, till flat spot is ironed out. Adjust idle speed screw so that chain doesn't turn. All the best.
