The price would be determined by the quality, as Sigidi has already pointed out. In round figures for average, dry material you would be looking at between 4 and 6 thousand a cube. I have seen good quality slabs sell as high as $10k but that was exceptional stuff. In recent years I haven't seen anything over $9k/m3 and that was at an auction at Gloucester NSW a couple of years ago.

On Rustynail's figures and rounded out a little that would be $600 to $900, but as Sigidi said it is very difficult to assess without pics.

No problem to drop in and have a look at it for you. Am working down your way next week if that helps.
A chap at Kurrajong had a couple of cubic metres of cedar for sale not so long back. When I looked at it for him I valued it at $6k/M3. He was happy enough with 5 and got it.
Drop me a PM if I can be of assistance.

On a different note. What I like about this site, is the willingness for members to help, and go out of their way for others. Kudos.

As the others have said, what it looks like counts, although 5m long is a big slab and would go well as a bar

thanks guys for your comments , to my knowledge the timber has been seasoned naturally near Armidale for about 4 years, the grain is a little hard for me to tell being sawn and I am not a timber expert, the timber is actually 6m long, I think it looks great and would make a fantastic bar top, ill try and put on a photo. cheers again fellers

6m x 0.7m wide, sounds like a fast growing tree reaching for the sunlight, so grain may not be spectacular but something that big would still be good. Photos will be the key, but throw some water on it before photos, this will help show grain. Don't worry, it won't damage it, it will dry quickly again.

Good Morning All,
I have been reading and learning from this site for some years but have never posted before, so if I have stuffed up I apologise.
I have just sold my farm,{broke my heart] and have collected a heap of timber out of my woodshed.I have 60 RED CEDAR {tOONA ciliata } and some white mahogany and a bit of rosewood as well.
The reason I joined this site in the first place was I had aspirations of making a display case and a hall stand out of this,it has taken me some years to work out that I will never be a wood worker.
I have no experience in selling timber, is anyone able to point me in the direction of a reputable timber merchant that may wish to buy it, please.
Many thanks in advance for any reply's.

Might get some good prices on the for sale page as a wholesaler will pay you less to make a dollar to cover his overheads, you might just have to wait a few weeks as things slowly sell
