Band Saw Mill
I have not used my mill in the last year. The Paulownia logs I have left are really too thin to justify the time it takes to mill them. I've keep it because it is excellent for re-sawing timber but I can now buy re-sawn timber from the real mill where I get my other Paulownia. I also kid my self that I might cut some more but the reality is that I'm getting too old and too sore to engage in milling again. - Full knee replacement on the 9th August with the other 6 months later.
Before I post something in the market forum (I'm not real good with taking photos and loading them) would there be any interest if I did go to the trouble. The mill is in Tyalgum near Murwillumbah Northern NSW. The rails can be dissembled into 3 metre lengths and the main frame should be able to be lifted onto a trailer using the local mechanics engine lifter. I paid approx. $11,000 for it 6 years ago.

There is every possibility that there would be interest (maybe eli szoko) but difficult to gauge without a few details.
Is it a propriety brand or homemade? What engine does it have and size? What length are the rails and what is the width of cut?
They are just the first questions that come to mind, but there is no substitute for pictures. I would grab hold of any young person and coerce them into photgraphing the mill and then ask them to post on the forum. Reasonable force is acceptable for this process.
When you go to the market place section you do have to nominate a price, but this can always be open to offer. The private messaging facility can be used for, well, private messages.
If you are about to undergo knee surgery I can understand why you might be thinking of pulling the pin on timber milling.

Band Saw Mill
Thanks for the interest and feed back. While sleeping on it last night I realised that my original post needed more information for members to make an informed contribution.
However I felt if I put too much information in the original post it would look like a disguised for sale thread. At the moment I'm too busy finalising affairs before I go into hospital to put a for sale post in the market forum.
To answer eli szoko I really want cash not another vehicle. I haven't really thought about a price yet but I suppose I'll have to take what I can get. Had hoped it would be worth more.
To answer Bushmiller it is a Western Australian made Westford. It is a copy of an American made Horwood, if my memory is good. The track is 6 metres but could be extended if required. The motor is a 12 HP Kohler, the cutting width is 20" and the blade tension is hydraulic.
I have decided that I'll wait until I'm reasonably mobile after the op and take the time to list it properly with photos and specifications.
